DHAN is recognized for its Vayalagam Tankfed Agriculture Development Programme, which rehabilitates ancient village tank cascade systems and establishes democratic Water Users Associations to manage local surface water. It also created the Kalanjiam Community Banking Programme, federating women’s self-help groups into self-sustaining micro-finance institutions.
