eGramSwaraj is the Ministry of Panchayati Raj’s planning, accounting and monitoring system for rural local governments. Public reports cover panchayat profiles and elected representatives, Gram Panchayat Development Plans, activities and works, Finance Commission grants, receipts, expenditure, accounting closure, online payments, audits and sponsored schemes.

The data is entered and maintained by panchayats and state departments, so reporting completeness is itself an important variable. The portal is designed for operational reporting rather than bulk research use, and its terms restrict reuse more than a conventional open-data licence.
