State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World

The SOFI series combines model-based and survey-based assessments on undernourishment, food insecurity, food quality and diet diversity. For India, it is one of the few global references that can be directly used to benchmark hunger and malnutrition progress against other countries while tracking policy-sensitive drivers like conflict exposure, climate shocks, price pass-through and social protection design. Its value for civic actors is strongest where district-level and programme-level evidence is weak, because it gives a global standard framing for what counts as food and nutrition insecurity over time.
