Glific

Glific is a purpose-built WhatsApp communication platform for Indian social sector organisations. It lets nonprofits run two-way messaging programmes — sending health information, education content, emergency alerts, or programme updates — through WhatsApp, the platform that 500M+ Indians already use daily. Features include chatbot flows, broadcast messaging, contact management, and integration with data collection tools. Built by Project Tech4Dev with support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and other funders, Glific is specifically designed for the Indian context: multilingual, works with low-end smartphones, and respects data privacy. The platform is open-source (AGPL v3) and can be self-hosted.
