Hasiru Dala

Hasiru Dala (“Green Force”) is a membership-based organisation of waste workers, scrap dealers, and informal recyclers based in Bengaluru, Karnataka. It works to integrate informal waste pickers into municipal solid waste management systems by securing official identity cards, institutionalising fair wages, and establishing community-run Dry Waste Collection Centres (DWCCs).

The organisation has secured municipal recognition and occupational social security for thousands of waste pickers across Karnataka, transforming informal collection into recognised green livelihoods. Hasiru Dala also conducts policy advocacy for extended producer responsibility (EPR) and inclusive circular economy frameworks.
