India Water Portal is one of the oldest and most comprehensive open knowledge platforms on water in India. Founded by Arghyam, it aggregates data, research, news, and community knowledge on rainfall, groundwater, surface water, water quality, irrigation, drinking water, sanitation, and water policy. It is particularly useful for finding historical context — the portal’s archive of articles, case studies, and datasets goes back nearly two decades.
