TRAI Telecom Performance Indicators

TRAI’s performance-indicator series gives a recurring statistical view of fixed and mobile telephony, internet and broadband, broadcasting and related services. Reports include subscriber bases, wireless and wireline shares, rural–urban and service-area teledensity, usage, revenue and market structure; separate monitoring reports cover provider performance against quality-of-service norms.

Subscriber counts can include inactive or multiple SIMs and should not be read as unique people. Definitions, reporting providers and service-area boundaries change over time, while national aggregates can hide large local gaps. For trend work, retain the report quarter and consult corrigenda rather than scraping a single headline table.
