Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air (CREA)

CREA (Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air) is an independent research organisation that uses scientific data and evidence to support governments, companies, and campaigners in the transition to clean energy and clean air. Founded by lead analyst Lauri Myllyvirta, CREA publishes rigorously researched reports on: health impacts of fossil fuel pollution (with a methodology that quantifies deaths, asthma cases, and economic costs from individual power plants and industrial facilities), country-level energy and emissions snapshots (especially China and Southeast Asia), and policy analysis of fossil fuel subsidies and sanctions. For India, CREA has published assessments of air quality and health impacts from specific industrial facilities, and analysis of India’s coal power and renewable energy transition. All research is freely available, data-driven, and methodology-transparent.
