fes.org.inThe Foundation for Ecological Security (FES) was established in 2001 in Anand, Gujarat, dedicated to the conservation of land, forest, and water commons through community-led institutional governance. FES assists village panchayats and Gram Sabhas across 10+ states to secure collective tenure over village pastures, revenue wastelands, and community forest resources.
FES built the India Observatory, an open geospatial data platform combining satellite imagery and administrative datasets to help rural communities and district administrations monitor pasture regeneration, groundwater recharge, and climate resilience.
