Paani.Earth

Paani.Earth is an open-access environmental data think tank and research observatory based in Bengaluru that addresses the mismanagement of river basins, drying catchments, and urban water vulnerability across India.

The initiative builds River Basin Information Systems (RBIS) that bring together spatial mapping, river discharge rates, dam storage levels, and water distribution matrices across basins like the Cauvery, Krishna, Arkavathi, and Vrishabhavathi. By opening hydrological data to the public, Paani.Earth enables researchers, journalists, and citizens to conduct evidence-based water audits and participate in river restoration.
