4th Cross Labs

4th Cross Labs is an open-source hacker collective rooted in the engineering team behind Zerodha. Named after 4th Cross street in JP Nagar, Bengaluru, where the team began hacking more than a decade ago, the collective develops and maintains production-grade tools designed to run as lightweight, self-hostable applications and single binaries. Projects emerge from real operational infrastructure needs and personal experiments before being released as freely licensed public software.

Its ecosystem includes widely adopted digital infrastructure such as Listmonk (a high-performance self-hosted newsletter and mailing list manager), Libredesk (a single-binary open-source support desk), Logchef (a ClickHouse log analytics interface), Dungbeetle (an asynchronous distributed SQL read job queue), and Whatomate (an open-source WhatsApp communication system). For non-profits, civic tech initiatives, and public-interest teams that require reliable digital infrastructure without recurring per-seat SaaS costs or proprietary lock-in, 4th Cross Labs provides modular, self-contained alternatives.
