Jan Swasthya Abhiyan

Jan Swasthya Abhiyan (JSA) is the Indian chapter of the global People’s Health Movement (PHM). Formed in 2000 through a coalition of over 20 national networks and hundreds of public health organisations, JSA advocates for the universal right to healthcare, comprehensive primary health services, and the regulation of private healthcare providers.

JSA conducts state-level community health audits, produces policy responses to national health missions and drug pricing regulations, and organizes public hearings on patients’ rights violations. Its network includes doctors, social scientists, community health networks, and women’s groups across multiple Indian states.
