National Judicial Data Grid

The National Judicial Data Grid (NJDG) is a live dashboard showing case pendency and disposal across India’s district and subordinate courts, and increasingly the High Courts. You can see exactly how many cases are pending in each court complex, broken down by case type (civil/criminal), age (0-1 year, 1-3, 3-5, 5-10, 10+ years), and stage of proceedings. For researchers and journalists, NJDG provides real-time evidence for arguments about judicial delays and backlog — and for tracking whether reform efforts are working. The Supreme Court’s version (SC-NJDG) was launched more recently. Both are part of the eCourts project and are publicly accessible without registration.
