RapidPro

RapidPro is an open-source visual workflow engine designed by UNICEF and Nyaruka for building complex messaging services and frontline data collection workflows without writing code. It allows non-profits, public health agencies, and governments to create interactive chatbots, maternal health alerts, emergency surveys, and feedback loops via SMS, WhatsApp, Telegram, and voice channels.

RapidPro serves as the core digital public infrastructure (DPI) powering global civic platforms such as UNICEF U-Report (connecting millions of youth) and national health registries. It can be fully self-hosted, supports offline-first deployments, and provides webhook integration with external health and welfare databases.
