snehamumbai.orgThe Society for Nutrition, Education and Health Action (SNEHA) is a non-profit organisation founded in 1999 by neonatologist Dr. Armida Fernandez in Mumbai. SNEHA works with vulnerable women and children living in urban informal settlements (slums).
SNEHA works across four interconnected domains: maternal and newborn health, child health and nutrition (malnutrition reduction), adolescent empowerment, and the prevention of violence against women and children. It partners with municipal health systems and community volunteer networks to deliver preventive care and crisis counseling.
