UPAG (Unified Portal for Agricultural Statistics) is the government’s attempt to bring India’s fragmented agricultural data into one place. It integrates crop area, production, and yield statistics from the Directorate of Economics and Statistics, mandi price data from AGMARKNET, and other agricultural datasets into a unified platform. For researchers, UPAG addresses a longstanding frustration: agricultural data in India is scattered across multiple portals with inconsistent formats and identifiers. UPAG provides a single query interface and consistent data schema across commodities, states, and time periods. The portal is part of the broader push toward a unified agricultural data ecosystem.
