World Bank Enterprise Surveys

Enterprise Surveys collect firm-level data on a wide range of topics: access to finance, infrastructure quality, corruption experience, competition, workforce skills, regulatory burden, trade, innovation, and firm performance. India is surveyed regularly (2014, 2022) with samples of 9,000+ firms covering manufacturing and services. The microdata is freely downloadable after registration. Particularly useful for comparing India’s business environment with other countries at similar income levels, or for studying how firms of different sizes and sectors experience constraints differently.
