CiviCRM is the leading open-source CRM for the nonprofit sector — think Salesforce for civil society, but free and community-owned. It handles contact management, fundraising and donations, membership management, event registration, email campaigns, case management, and reporting, all integrated with WordPress, Drupal, or Joomla. For Indian nonprofits, CiviCRM provides a proper donor and beneficiary management system without the recurring licence fees of commercial alternatives. It supports multiple languages and currencies, and can be customised for programme-specific workflows. The platform is stewarded by a nonprofit (CiviCRM LLC) and maintained by a global community of contributors and service providers, including several in India.
