Flourish

Flourish is the tool behind most of the animated data visualisations you see in news media — bar chart races, animated line charts, network graphs, 3D maps, survey explorers, and interactive scrollytelling stories. For Indian journalists and nonprofits, the free tier provides unlimited public visualisations with full access to all template types. The platform handles Indian data well and supports embedding in any website. Particularly good for making complex trends accessible to non-technical audiences — for example, animating how district-level NFHS indicators changed between survey rounds, or creating an interactive explorer of state budget allocations. The companion Story feature lets you combine multiple visualisations into a single narrative.
