World Bank Atlas of Global Development

The Atlas of Global Development is the World Bank’s flagship data storytelling publication, now in an interactive digital format on the Data360 platform. The 2026 edition introduces a new framework to track development over the past 75 years, focusing on the pace of progress — which countries are moving fastest, and which are losing ground — across five themes: people (demographics, health, gender), prosperity (poverty, growth, trade), planet (climate, water, biodiversity), infrastructure (energy, transport), and digital transformation. For India researchers, the Atlas provides clean, curated visualisations of India’s trajectory alongside peer countries, with data drawn from the World Development Indicators and other World Bank sources.
