Ember Energy Data Explorer

Ember is the premier open-data think tank for electricity transitions. Its Electricity Data Explorer provides yearly generation by source (coal, gas, nuclear, hydro, solar, wind, bioenergy, other renewables), installed capacity, demand, emissions intensity, and per-capita generation for 200+ geographies. For India, monthly data is available from 2018. Ember’s Global Electricity Review and India-specific reports are the most-cited open-source references on power-sector decarbonisation. Particularly valuable because Indian power data is fragmented across CEA, POSOCO, NPP, and state utilities — Ember does the integration.
