MapLibre GL

MapLibre GL is a community-governed open-source mapping suite created as a fork of Mapbox GL after its relicensing. It includes MapLibre GL JS (for web browsers) and MapLibre Native (for iOS and Android), providing GPU-accelerated rendering of vector map tiles, satellite raster layers, and interactive geospatial geometries.

Maintained under the MapLibre organisation within the OpenJS Foundation, MapLibre is the standard open mapping toolkit for civic tech portals, open data dashboards, and environmental map viewers that require high-performance interactive cartography without proprietary map licensing restrictions.
