worldpop.orgWorldPop produces 100 m resolution gridded population estimates for every country, including India. Unlike census data (which gives you district-level totals), WorldPop maps where people actually live within those districts — essential for calculating how many people live within 5 km of a health facility, in a flood zone, or beyond a road network. For India, the constrained and unconstrained datasets use different methods for allocating population to grid cells. The WorldPop Open Population Repository also hosts gridded age/sex structures, births, pregnancies, and poverty maps.
